Notes: Initially Janaki selected for the role Parvathi. Then After Savitri replaced her. Savitri got this offer when she was on 'Priyuralu' sets. She read the novel 'Devadasu' six times before go to sets. 'Devadasu' shoot was completed in April 1953. Noted film personalities were attended the preview and they appreciated the performance of Savitri so much. This film told the talent of Savitri. It got the name as epic.
Devadasu was one of the most memorable films for Telugu people. The songs in this film are popular even today. 'Jagame Maayaa', 'Palleku Podam .. Paarunu Choodaam', 'Kudi Edamaithe' are the few unforgettable song of Devadasu.Major credit goes to Ghantasala, the singer and CR Subbaraman, the music director.
